Our Story

A brilliant cushion-cut yellow gemstone with radiant facets resting on a piece of textured natural driftwood.

Born from the idea to create individually crafted, but wearable, fine jewellery – using Namibian precious materials wherever possible – Andreas Herrle and Benita Herma established Herrle & Herma Jewellers in 1990, with the arrival of Independence in Namibia.

While the centre of attraction in any fine piece of jewellery is most often the diamond, Herrle & Herma enjoys designing around brilliant- and princess cuts, cushions and baguettes or fancy colours. The Namibian Sun® cut in particular, designed and produced by Hardstone Processing (one of the first cutting and polishing factories in the country), has stolen these jewellers’ hearts, and the duo is inspired to create ornaments that enhance this stone’s unrivalled brilliance and reflection of light.

Except for the use of Namibian diamonds and gemstones, set in gold or silver, Herrle & Herma makes use of natural materials like shells, quills and various kinds of animal hair, sourced sustainably and from local origin.

At Herrle & Herma Jewellers, everything that glitters is gold – and sparkling diamonds, coloured gemstones or precious metal
